6G technology isn't valuable.
What we do with it in the 2030s
might be.

When the era of “Build it and they will come” is over, we need to be clear about the value 6G can bring to end-user industries and telecoms providers.

If there is no business case for 6G, nobody will deploy it. If there is a business case, let’s make sure telecoms providers are ready to monetise it.

Be part of a movement getting the mobile industry 2030-ready by:

  • Defining the commercial evolution path(s) from 5G to 6G alongside other technical and business developments.
  • Understanding the actual demand beyond 5G from government, enterprise and telecoms players.
  • Clarifying how operations, sales, customer management and finance need to adapt to turn 6G capabilities into commercial products.
  • Identifying where the industry is well-placed to find opportunities and where gaps remain in taking advantage of them.

3 months of public and private debate on the most important questions in 6G:

Where is the money and who gets it?

6GForge’s value season is designed to surface the state of the art and where questions remain. Combining public and private debates and research, public surveys and culminating in The 6G Value Report, we will explore critical questions for transforming 6G standards into valuable commercial services.

Timeline

An expert panel debates whether “6G” is something that can be taken to market effectively, or whether we’re looking at a future where “G” doesn’t matter outside our industry.

  • If 6G is worth taking to market, who is buying and what do they value?
  • If not, what are telcos and end-users looking for, and how do moves towards 6G standards support them?

Attend and share your own views and opinions with the speakers and other audience members.

Launch of 6G Commercialisation Survey

Taking the temperature of the wider industry to understand broader perspectives

December - January 14

A series of discussions under Chatham House Rules to take the temperature of operators and end-users alike.

Moderated group discussions of 10-12 people at a time will focus attention on critical questions for transforming 6G standards into valuable commercial services. Topics will include:

  • What would a commercial evolution from 5G to 6G have to look like to answer business customer needs?
  • What would make a CFO approve another generation of network investment?
  • Is it a mistake trying to build 6G on top of yesterday’s operational architecture?
  • Does 6G’s success rely on commercial uptake of technologies beyond our control? If so, how does that affect telco choices for partnerships and business planning?
  • Who pays when the consumer of the service is a temporary AI agent?
  • What would an operator have to become to monetise AI-native networks?
